Read 1 Kings 1:28-53.

1. Yet again, it’s cool to see that Bathsheba and David’s story had some redemptive purpose–their son would be the king.
2. So, David summons his loyal followers (the priest, the prophet, and the bodyguard); and they are going to anoint Solomon king. Hmm…I wonder if Adonijah is going to like it when he finds out about this…
3. I love the fact that all of this is going on while Adonijah is having his own ordination ceremony.
4. He he he…I’m sure Joab feels a little dumb for choosing the wrong side now.
5. Even David bowed down to his own son. It had to be gratifying for him to know that his successor would be of his choosing.
6. I’m thinking that the attendees of Adonijah’s party are feeling like a bunch of teenagers at a party when the cops are coming…perhaps a little nervous? He he he…wrong place, wrong time.
7. Adonijah was so scared that he clung to the horns of the altar for safety. He was scared that Solomon would kill him. Solomon just told him to go home.

So…there’s a new boss…let’s see how it all goes…
