1. We last left off with that emotional speech from Paul. No wonder Luke says that they had to “tear” themselves from the people.
2. Are they ship-hopping? Regardless, they ended up in Tyre, meeting up with some other disciples. The Holy Spirit was telling them to tell Paul NOT to go to Jerusalem. But Paul seems to ignore that. What do you think about that?
3. I like that they all knelt to pray. I think I’m going to start implementing that more in local gatherings. It does seem like such a more humble posture than standing (or even standing while holding hands).
4. They sailed off from Tyre and arrived in Caesarea. Philip was one of “the Seven.” Were those the seven guys who were chosen to distribute food to the widows? Regardless, it also says that he had four daughters who prophesied. Interesting…
5. Wow…that Agabus didn’t mess around. He just ripped Paul’s belt off and tied him up. He told them that Paul was going to Jerusalem (to his doom). Paul seemed unphased, but the rest of them weren’t. They urged Paul to back off. Paul was willing to die. Maybe they weren’t?
6. Do you think we rationalize to ourselves that we can do more good alive than dead (and thus chicken out on what God has called us to do)?
7. How would you say “Mnason”?
8. Well, there’s a lot of hype surrounding this arrival in Jerusalem…
