My Theological Viewpoint

I scored as a Evangelical Holiness/Wesleyan (whatever the heck that is!)

I am an evangelical in the Wesleyan tradition (um…ok?). I believe that God’s grace enables me to choose to believe in him, even though I myself am totally depraved (absolutely…100%). The gift of the Holy Spirit gives me assurance of my salvation, and He also enables me to live the life of obedience to which God has called us (definitely true). I am influenced heavly by John Wesley and the Methodists (which is weird because I didn’t really get along that well at the Methodist church that I used to work at…hmm…interesting).

I thought this was kind of interesting. Since I’ve never been to seminary, I’m not sure if my results are a good thing or a bad thing. To be honest, I think some of the questions on there were kind of trick questions (that I was putting more thought into them than was intended). But…if you want to take the quiz and post it in a comment on this page, feel free. Follow the “What’s your theological worldview?” link. If you are going to post your results. I recommend copying and pasting the “Bar Graphs Only” section and then going back to that page and copying and pasting the text above it. Shoot, you can even do some editorializing like I did. Isn’t religion weird?

thanks for the link,
I took the quiz. I am a fundamentalist.
I thought all this time I was a God fearing christian.

I think I am going to like it here :)

I always thought I was a fundamentalist too. I don’t think that’s a bad thing. I hate the stigma that our culture has placed upon those who fear God.

I think I’ll like you being here too.

The Bishop Spong question made me laugh. If you don’t know who he is, he denies the resurrection.

I got 100% “Reformed Evangelical”, 86% Fundamentalist. I’d call myself a fundamentalist (not sure what “Reformed Evangelical” is).

If you don’t like all the baggage that has accumulated with “fundamentalist”, I think “paleo-orthodox” has a nice ring (see “The Rebirth of Orthodoxy” by Thomas Oden).

Well, I definitely believe in the resurrection; so maybe my answer it warped by me not knowing who he was.

I just don’t like labels. They confuse me. I am a follower of “The Way.”
